From WYN Bailey
Two years ago Combe Down RFC sadly lost one of its most loyal and respected members of 76 years,Pat Payton!
Once again Pat has shown how much Combe Down meant to him by leaving a very generous donation of £5000 to the club, which i was pleased to hand over the other week
We already have a lasting memory with the stand named after him. Pat also left some other items including an original club tie, perhaps this could go up in the clubhouse alongside his photo near the bar.
I'm sure he would have liked that because as far as i'm aware there are only 2 left of the original design (If anyone knows of another please let the club know)
Pat was always our strongest supporter of young players especially when we ran a Colts and 3rd XV. So I hope the club uses some of the donation wisely to make sure we continue to bring younger players into the club so we can build for the future and hopefully respect Pat's legacy!
Just a quick reminder for Dec 13th old players reunion and a chance to raise a glass to Jasper Justice who we sadly lost a while ago. Also on a happier note its old D B D himself Mike Dawes 85th birthday, one heck of a load of candles
See you there
Wyn
