So we've lost another proper rugby character in Billy Withers! As I've said before all clubs need them!
Billy was always fun to be around. Kelvin reminded me of the famous Chris Oti impersonation involving Billy whilst we were away in Spain. We all took on fun names, I think Kelvin was Fran Cotton!
Billy was Mr Oti, those of you a certain age know what i mean!!!
Also in a game at Wells R F C Billy, not known for scoring tries, had a sudden burst of speed in open play. We all cheered him on, GO Billy GO, he ran so fast and plunged over the line (the dead ball line).
Billy walked back and said what's wrong boy's to howls of laughter, great bloke!
On one of my trips back from France I can recall chatting with Billy and we always ended up chuckling away about many good times.
